Dean Wakefield says...
The original film was taken by John McMullen who worked for the Fire Marshall's office ( now called the Office of the Fire Commissioner ) out of Vancouver. It was actually filmed in 1961 not 1956. I know this because of two indicators in the film. One is that the fire engine they are responding in is engine KA 76 a 1960 LaFrance engine. And there is a former member of the VFD Ralph Beck who was hired to full time staff in 1962 but in the film he is a live in volunteer and became a live in member in 1961. Years ago one of our fellows guessed at the year as 1956 but that is not correct - also there is a 1958 Chev parked outside the fire hall when all the fellows are running in the door.
